Strategically Communicating

While searching for NIKE on Google, I was shocked how many key words brought me straight to the NIKE website. ‘Basketball shoes’, ‘sportswear’ and ‘football cleats’ were fairly obvious since that is what NIKE is known for. However, a couple searches that surprised me were ‘design your own shoes’ and simply the name ‘Jordan’. NIKE is such a large and well known company and their SEO is designed to match. Even searching ‘University of Oregon Football apparel’ ultimately leads to both the NIKE website as well as the NIKE blog.

When I just search NIKE in the Google search bar, the results are about 226,000,000 results in .12 seconds. This is amazing to me. Especially after learning how many factors Google goes through before delivering results, I can’t even imagine how many pages are actually scanned when ‘nike’ is typed in.
