I ran across a list this morning that made me realize how many grammar mistakes really bug me. Whether we like it or not, people judge our intelligence based on our grammar and language usage. I recommend taking as many of these grammar lists to heart. Some of my favorite ones to hate are:
1. Writing “then” when you mean “than.”
&
18. Using“could of,” “would of,” “should of.”
What are some that you agree with? Are there any not the list? If so, write it in the comments.
I hate reading Facebook statuses when people misuse “their,” “there,” and “they’re.”
“I want to go over to there house.”
or
“Their going to Harry Potter tomorrow.”
When the words are used improperly, it makes the person look extremely unintelligent.

Via @JeremyHerbel on Twitter: I have always thought that there is too many tos (Toos? Twos?). Always wondered how you’d spell that last word.
Funny.
(Also, I think that link is down. It took me to a book buying site…)

Thanks for the comments. Unfortunately, Cristina is correct and the link is down.I think this is because it may have only been available for a day. I’m unable to edit the post but still wanted to thank you all for the comments.

As a foreigner I got really confused by the ‘could of’, ‘should of’ thing. The first time I saw it, it actually didn’t make any sense to me…
It’s a shame the link isn’t working, I would have liked to see the other ones!
