Mashable announced today that Sony will stop the production of floppy disks as of March 2011.
A spokesperson for Sony stated that this is occurring “due to dwindling demand, Sony discontinued European production of 3.5-inch floppy disks in September 2009. The last European sale of a floppy disk took place in March 2010.”
When I first read this I immediately thought, are we seriously that old? What a short life span for the disk. Technology continues to progress at such a lighting fast speed that we no longer have a need for tangible objects. So mind blowing.

I must say, when I first found out about how we had to make our own blog and create weekly posts, I was pretty intimidated. After working and improving my blog last Wednesday and putting a lot of thought and effort in my post, I think I will really enjoy this. Blogging is a whole new world for me and I’m pretty excited about it. I still have a lot to learn but the beginning of this process and proven to be really enjoyable. Does anybody have any suggestions that you would have for someone just beginning to blog like me?

I came across this Mashable link about some of the annoying mistakes we’re likely to make when we write online. Being from Denmark I know that I’m not the one to talk (with my language errors), but this is just a fun reminder that everything we write online is evaluated and assessed by others http://mashable.com/2010/10/20/online-punctuation-lapses/

Filippa K, a Swedish fashion brand, is evolving its business concept around key words such as simplicity; functionality; quality; and timeless simplicity combined with a contemporary edge.
The clothing designs certainly reflects these key words as do the designs/interior of the stores, the fashion shows and last but not least the advertisements. I think this video, which is promoting the 2010 fall/winter collection, captures exactly the essence of what the brand is all about! It is simple yet contemporary, timeless and states what it needs to state. It is the perfect branding of a brand that wants to keep it simple and that does not care for too much advertisement!

Wow have I enjoyed exploring deep into twitter. It’s like Alice and Wonderland getting lost in a hole and being overwhelmed by all the new information (in a good way). While I have had a twitter account for a little while, I have yet to explore areas of interests and influential followers, until now.
Of course there are the typical celebrities that supposedly are really there speaking to us. And I have to admit it’s helpful to have updates on the two sports teams in my life.. the Blazers and Ducks. But more than just celebrities and sports, it has become so much more convenient and simple for me to check into the things that everyone should be educated on.. Health.
Take a look at my new twitter influentials: DailyHealthTips, WebMD & Disc_Health.

The common theme, It’s hard having the topic of a movie be your life. Check it out at http://prpost.wordpress.com/2010/10/10/zuckerberg-hearst-and-hollywood-pr-lessons-learned-from-the-past/

For girls, it seems as though we are expected to follow the crowd and wear the same college style costume every year— cowgirl, school girl, beer maid… Or if we try to buy a new costume, something that is popular for 2010, you can guarantee you will run into at least 15 other girls wearing the same Lady Gaga costume as you.
I have provided a list of potential halloween costume ideas from celebrities and style icons that influenced our generation. These ten costume ideas are unique and fairly inexpensive. If anything, you may only need to buy a few items or accessories since you can use different pieces of clothing from your closet to create one of these looks. Interested? Check out my most recent post on my blog.

Being a “140-type of girl,” I was really intimidated to start blogging. BUT I LOVE IT. I find myself blogging and checking my stats nearly as much as I’m tweeting! I’m so glad this class required us to start blogging.

Hey guys!
So I’ve been having a difficult time trying to figure out who I want to use for a class client. I thought it would be interesting to see if anyone out in the Twitter world has a suggestion. So, I wrote something and posted it on my personal blog and linked on my Twitter. It worked, I’ve already received a suggestion. If you’re in the same boat as me, maybe try doing something similar.
This is what I posted:
Help!
For my Strategic Public Relations Communications course I need have a “client” to use for the remainder of the term.
A client can be anyone/anything that you are working on or are aware of that could use a little help and research.

This is FREE public relations work just handed to you. You have absolutely nothing to lose. If you don’t like what I’ve done, you don’t have to use it. But because of your suggestion, you will be aiding towards the enrichment of my educational experience.
