Charlie Sheen’s Publicist Steps Down

With all the news Charlie Sheen has created in the last few weeks it is no surprise to hear after his latest antics and interviews that his publicist has stepped down. Stan Rosenfield, his long time publicist has been with Sheen through past rehab stints and his most recent rants aimed at his employers on the T.V. show “Two and a Half Men,” and his father actor Martin Sheen. Rosenfield who has represented Sheen for over seven years had this to say:

“I have worked with Charlie Sheen for a long time and I care about him very much, However, at this time, I’m unable to work effectively as his publicist and have respectfully resigned.”

I guess this is really no surprise to anyone but I wonder how much Rosenfield was doing to help Sheen in the last few weeks anyway. Not to say Rosenfield didn’t try but it just seems like his client made his job impossible. From rumors of retirement, to public attacks at employers and family members Rosenfield has probably been through a lot in the last month. I mean as a celebrity’s public relations representative how much can someone actually do if your client obviously is living with such clear disregard for his life and the people around him.

My guess is the day Sheen hits rock bottom, Rosenfield will be relaxing comfortably at home watching in on the news, with plenty of clients who don’t make his job impossible…

  1. I have been following the Charlie Sheen news lately and cannot believe how insane he is. He has people anxiously waiting for his next move and rant. He started a Twitter a few weeks ago and reached one million followers in less than 24 hours. I think it’s so interesting that people are buying into him. He’s definitely entertaining but I think there is a line, and he has crossed it. Charlie Sheen is a public relations professional’s worst night mare.

  2. Well, I guess this is good news for PR students, right?
Now that Sheen’s publicist has stepped down, he is looking for a summer intern (With Tiger Blood—clearly). If you are getting a little bit bored of your normal summer routine, check this out. It’s sure to be memorable!
