Check this out!

As I was doing some research for another class I came across this really interesting analysis of how Americans are spending their time online. Surprisingly (or not) most consumers are devoting the majority of their internet time to their social networks and blogs. Guess this is a great incentive for us to keep up our hard work…there is an audience to capture, we just have to find the best way to reach them!

This is really interesting! I was not surprised by the fact that social media takes up much more internet time than it used to, however, by looking at the increase in numbers (43% in 1 year) it makes me think; will this increase continue or what comes next?

This was really interesting Kelly! Through your two blogs, personal website, and Twitter I’m sure you are capturing quite the audience!

I thought it was interesting that the percent of time spent emailing as a whole decreased from 2009 to 2010, but it accounted for the most internet use on mobile phones. It almost makes you wonder where email will be years from now, since there are so many other means of communication these days such as Skype, Second Life, Facebook, etc. I’m sure we will start seeing email being integrated into social networking sites for convenience and to draw in more users. But for now, it makes sense that email use is high on cell phones, since it is easy to type up a quick response on your mobile while you are on the go, thanks to the growing number of smart phones with easy email accessibility.
